Matt's spare tips it Wide Boys way

Colliton Wide Boys 429 - 406 Colliton Spares

For the third home game running Wide Boys hit 429 which gave them a 23 pin victory. After three hands Wide Boys were 26 up, mainly due to hitting 76 on the second hand that had pulled them 20 pins. At this point Wide boys appeared to relax too much, particularly when Spares hit only 56 on their fourth hand. Wide Boys replied with one of out worst hands of the season in compiling a score of just 47 to end up losing 9 pins.

Spares then came too life following this boost and hit their two best hands of the night, 65 and 66. Wide Boys lost another 6 pins to the 65 and were looking in big trouble on the sixth hand until Matt Slade hit an outrageous stick-up (running 4 with a winger and backer) of 14 to help Wide Boys hit 63 and go into the last hand 8 pins up. Spares throwing first could only manage 52 which allowed them to wrap the game up and finish with a 67 to win by a flattering 23 pins.
