Wide Boys carve out victory at the Oak

Milborne Woodmen 408 Colliton Wide Boys 435

After a poor first hand for the Wide Boys of 44, which included a 4 from Steve Legg, and the bottom pair getting 3 between them (2 for Andy Fowler and 1 from Justin Hallett), gave the Woodman a 12 pin lead when they felled 56 pins in reply. But an immediate change of form with a 68 from the Wide Boys on the next hand saw them 1 pin up and over the next few hands Wide Boys chipped away at that lead and carved out a 14 pin lead going into the last hand.
Over these hands Steve and Justin re-tree-ved their low start to the game by getting stick ups, a 16 and 15 respectively and both had a 10, but Andy could not re-kindle his form or last weeks top score and finished up bottom score with 44.
71 on the last hand from the Wide Boys left the Woodmen 86 to win, a tall order they did not achieve, given the Wide Boys a 27 pins win.
