Breakaways star man "The Dog" was top score for the Breakaways with 68 as he celebrated his birthday on Thursday night.
Slingers started with a 57 hand which Breakaways failed to match hitting 52, Slingers again hit 57 on the second hand but this time Breakaways came back with a 59 hand. On the third hand Slingers hit a poor 49 hand while Breakaways hit 60 to go 8 pins up. The game was won on the fourth hand as Slingers hit 55 while Breakaways put in a big 71 hand with spares from "The Dog" 15 and the captain Keith Brown 10 to go 24 pins in front. Slingers made a fight of it next hand hitting 71 but Breakaways came back with a 67 hand to lose just 4 pins. 51 was hit by Slingers on the sixth hand and Breakaways finished them off hitting another big hand this time 73 to go 42 pins up with one hand to go. Slingers managed to pull 3 pins back on the last hand hitting 59 which Breakaways failed to match getting 56, but by this time the game was well over.
Slingers top man was Russell Green who hit 65.
