Singles Competition
The Dorchester & District Skittles League's singles competition will be held at the Trinity Club on Thursday 3rd January from 8pm.

Wide Boys through in cup
Colliton Wide Boys made it through to the last eight of the men's Knockout cup last night beating Vic Reeves of Section C at the Vic, Wide Boys hit 459 while Vic Reeves hit 423. There was also a cup win for Hammers as they won away in the all Section A match against Colliton Muckspreaders.

Wide Boys win away
Colliton Wide Boys won away at Milborne against Dewlish Monsters by 12 pins on Friday, the final scores were 428-416.

Section B
Top team Allsorts continued their march back to Section A by beating 5th placed Villains at the Bulls Head by 39 pins. Second place Barmy Army who hope to make a quick return to Section A had their bye.
Bottom two lose
A six point gap opened up at the bottom of Section A last night as Colliton Muckspreaders beat Colliton Spares to move onto ten points and leave Spares on four points. Bottom team Hammers stay on two points as they lost at home to Milborne Woodman.
Slingers made it two wins in two nights as they followed up their cup success by beating Puddletown Wanderers at the Bladen Club by 23 pins, while Brewers Bees who lost to Slingers in the cup on Thursday bounced back to keep their impressive league run going by beating the Skimmers at the Gurkha.

3CA close gap on leaders
3CA made the most of top team Marco Wanderers having a bye by beating Breakaways away by 23. After a close start to the game 3CA found themselves 17 up after 5 hands and went 34 up on the sixth hand, but they gave Breakaways a slight chance by only hitting 53 on their last hand to leave Breakaways 88 to win, but this target was not achieved and 3CA closed the gap on the leaders to just 2 points. The final scores at Wool were 474-451.

Untouchables
Untouchables kept up there fine start to the season with an away win at the Bulls Head against Half Pints by 11 pins in their Section C match.
Slingers win in the cup
Slingers are through to the last eight of the Knockout Cup after beating Brewers Bees by 9 pins at the Trinity Club on Thusday night.
Imps snatch victory
In a low scoring game at the Goldies on Thursday The Imps were trailing Patriots all night, but Patriots hit a poor 54 hand on the 7th hand to leave The Imps 60 to win and anchor man Andy Taylor hit the winning pins to give The Imps an unlikely victory 439-435. Barry Gosney topped score for The Imps with 68 while Lee Cooke topped the Patriots scoring with 63.

Section A fixtures
This week sees top team Marco Wanderers having their bye after again hitting a massive home score again last week of 518 against Puddletown Wanderers with captain Chay Fox getting skittler of the week with 78.
So second placed Patriots will be hoping to gain 2 points on Marco as they take on The Imps at the Goldies on Thursday while on Friday third placed 3CA travel to Wool to take on Breakaways also hoping to make up some ground.
Skimmers face a tough game at home to Brewers Bees who have already beaten The Imps at the Gurkha this season.

The Imps hit the highest score for the Gurkha Inn alley this season beating Colliton Spares by 75 pins. The Imps started with a 68 hand and finished with a 74 hand on their way to a total score of 435.

Section A fixtures
This weeks top game sees two of the top five meet at the Colliton club on Thursday as the Wide Boys take on third place Patriots, both teams hit big scores last week and both will be keen to keep up with the leaders Marco Wanderers who play at home to Puddletown Wanderers. Second placed 3CA have their bye while in form Brewers Bees play home to bottom placed Hammers. There are two other games on Thursday as Slingers take on Dewlish Monsters and Skimmers play away to Colliton Muckspreaders. The other two games are between The Imps and Colliton Spares at the Gurkha Inn and at Milborne were Woodman take on Breakaways.

Imps win the derby
The Imps won the Gurkha Inn derby beating rivals Skimmers on Friday night. After three hands the scores were level but over the next three hands The Imps pulled away and went into the last hand 14 up, a stick up from Andy Taylor on the last hand for The Imps meant that Skimmers were left with the tough task of getting 75 to win which they could not reach and The Imps won by 12 pins with a total score of 422.
