Throwing first Wide Boys opening three hands were 64, 63 and 63 which established a 29 pin lead against a weakened Monsters side. Their two lowest hands of the game then followed (59 & 55) that still managed to add another 3 pins to the lead.

On the sixth hand Wide Boys hit a 12 and 13 pin stick-up that helped to compile the best hand of the night of 73. Monsters could only reply with 53 that left Wide Boys 52 pins in front. Despite missing two single pins for stick-ups on the final hand Wide Boys pulled another pin even though Monsters managed to hit their only hand above 60. Roy Fowler top scored for Wide Boys with 66.
