Pin Ups 324 Breakaways 323
Paul 'The Painter' Stickland was top score for the Breakaways as they lost away to Pin Ups by the narrowest of margins in the Blackthorn British Championship.
Paul who will be making a comeback for Breakaways next season after a season off topped the scoring with 49 as the Breakaways set the Weymouth side 58 to win, the bottom four needed 7,8,8,8 to win and the group leaders cemented their place at the top with a 1 pin victory.
It could have been different but for a score of 24 from an unnamed Breakaway.

Imps win at last
Dewlish Monsters 322 The Imps 350
The Imps finally got a win in this years Blackthorn British Skittles Championship with a win away to Section A rivals Dewlish Monsters.
The Imps started with a 60 hand mainly due to anchor man Malc Slade who had a flopper although he could only manage 3 more pins with his other two balls to score 12, while the home side hit 56. Phil Goodland started the second hand with a 14 stick up and the visitors went on to hit a 65 hand as Monsters again hit 56 to put the Imps 13 pins in front. The Imps struggled on the third hand and only hit 54, but Monsters failed to capitalize on this and only hit 53 themselves to lose 1 more pin. The fourth hand was were the game was won as the Imps hit a 60 hand with Keith Wyatt hitting a 13 stick up, the home side had their worst hand of the night and could only total a hand of 43 to go 31 pins behind. The Imps hit a 56 hand on the fifth hand, and when Andy Crabb started with a 13 stick up for the Milborne side it looked as if a comeback was on, but a hand of 61 could only pinch 5 pins. The Imps finished with a 55 hand to leave Monsters with the almost impossible task of hitting 82 to win the game, as it was they finished with 53 to give the Imps a 28 pin victory. Andy Crabb was the star man of the night hitting 52 for the home side while Keith Wyatt was top for the Imps with 48.

Skimmers lost the toss and were put on first, recording 54 for their first hand. The Masters replied with 62 to go 8 ahead. The lead increased to 31 after 3 hands as Skimmers struggled to come to terms with the long alley & choice of 9 balls (sm, med or lge).On the 4th Skimmers hit their best score of 60 & pulled 4 pins. The Masters increased their lead in the 5th to 34 as they hit 58. The last hand was tied at 55 each.

Solid performance from the Management
Monster Oaks 322 The Management 349
Dorchester mixed skittle side The Management made it two wins out of two with an empathic victory over Monster Oaks at the Royal Oak, Milborne St Andrews.
It was a solid performance from the visitors who started with a hand of 65 which the Milborne side could not match hitting 47 to trail by 18 pins. The Dorchester side hit their lowest hand of the night on the second only achieving 51, and the home side gained back 9 pins hitting 60. A stick up a piece from Phil Slade (13) and captain Brian Newton (11) pushed the management's third hand to 62 and pinched 6 more pins as Monster Oaks hit 56. The fourth hand was were the game was won as the away side hit 57, while the home side struggled through out the hand and only achieved 42 to put 30 pins between the two teams. To their credit the Milborne side kept going and when the visitors only hit 53 on the fifth hand they put in a hand of 62 with anchor man Andy Crabb getting a 14 stick up to pull back 9 pins. But the Management finished strongly hitting 61 on the last hand while Monster Oaks finished with 55 to give the Dorchester side a 27 pin victory.
